Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti Engine Oil Cooler

Don't want to buy an expensive oil cooler to replace your current one? Well this is the kit for you! The factory oil cooler adds marginal benefit to cooling the engine oil. If you are rebuilding your engine or need to replace your oil cooler, the factory oil cooler is an expensive piece. This kit replaces/deletes any Subaru oil coolers on any Subaru Impreza 02-14 WRX or 04-14 STI or Forester XT or Legacy GT. Note: This will not work on FA motors (ex: 2015+ WRX), only EJ series engines.
The factory bolt that passes through your stock oil cooler into the block is too long to thread on an oil filter. You must replace it with a shorter one.
One of the two coolant ports that route to the oil cooler out of the block must be plugged. The other fitting on the water pump must be welded shut, replaced with an NA or Non-turbo model water pump, or plugged with a 1/2" I.D. plug and worm clamp that can be bought at any local auto parts store.
This kit includes a brand new plug, oil filter, and union fitting. Installation is simple and requires basic hand tools. The block coolant plug comes with thread sealant already applied so there is no need for sealer of any kind.
