Item included is the roof flashing in image 2. Other items in images are for informational purposes and sold by others (prices shown for 7/29/23). Designed for 4:12 slope which is the most common roof pitch for residential homes. One-piece galvanized construction with zinc rich paint. Outside dimensions are 24 x 24 inches. Inside dimensions are 16-1/8 x 16-1/8 inches. Reflectix foil insulation was stapled to the plywood and then wrapped with aluminum foil tape on the outside. This provides cushioning for the cooler and insulates the air from the heat. 16 inch diameter flexible duct with collars was used from the plywood cooler mount down to the ceiling barometric damper for quieter operation. Locating the cooler on the roof peak places it into the natural fresh air flow where air usually does not stagnate. The hallway is typically below this point too so the cool air can enter the center of the house and flow out equally for optimal performance. Down draft coolers have 4 sides for the air to enter. Side draft coolers only have 3 sides which automatically makes them 25% less efficient. The plywood mount provides a sturdy support for the cooler to the roof frame with blocking. A square corner leg kit is not needed and eliminates the four fastener penetrations and roof leak risk. The cooler overhangs most of the flashing and rain water flows away from it so it can hug the roof with minimal curb height. This can also be used for a functioning cupola to vent air out naturally or with a fan. Most cupola plans are non-functioning and simply lay on top of the shingles to rot away.
