I've used this setup for 3 years for both moderate gaming and semi-professional video editing. This CPU has never once overheated or has been seriously stressed in its time. With a quality GPU, this setup can comfortably edit 4K video and play some of the newest games. I run a 6 monitor setup and like to multi-task multiple Adobe products, games, and just upgraded my cameras which use much heavier HDR 4K videos so I needed to update my system.
However if you plan on doing only one or two heavy activities at a time (like most people) then this will serve you well.
