1940s Vintage Porta-freeze Ice Chest Cooler

This cooler is complete and is great shape for its age. This is the best shape out of all the other coolers I have seen listed. These are really rare - especially in the shape this one is in. It appears to have been barley used. It has been in storage for the last 40 years. There is some dust and minor signs of wear as shown in the photographs.
There is a small white paint marks on the cooler as shown in the photographs.
This is complete with the insert and the cork. All the buckles work great and the lid shuts nicely.
Lid is attached with 4 latches (2 on each side) for easy removal. Inside looks like it would hold a good amount of product (see photos).The inside of the cooler appears to be quite clean & looks to have had little use. Measures approx. 23 Long x 15" Wide x 15" Tall (lid on) Outside Dimensions.19 Long x 10 Wide x 11 1/2" Tall INSIDE DIMENSIONS.  Top comes totally off, & the color is a dark almost "U S Army Green" Tweed Color. Has a light green name on the front & back, in a light green rectangle. Marked with the following informational: the top: PORTA-FREEZE  At the Bottom Edge CALPLASTI-CORPLos Angeles/Califiornia MANUFACTURERPATENT PENDING. This item appears to be real quite Rare. Since it is marked "Patent Pending", it most likely never went into full production. Appears to be made with an Aluminum inside & a fiberglass or other light material on the outside. Total weight (with lid on) is approx. 18 lbs.
